A CRADLE FOR A 42-FOOTER IN THE BOOT OF THE CAR?

A CRADLE FOR A 42-FOOTER IN THE BOOT OF THE CAR?

The Yacht Leg and Cradle Company (YLCC) introduces a range of transportable cradles specifically designed for easy breakdown and carriage in a standard estate car or hatchback. The largest version, the TC9, is a six arm cradle designed to handle up to a 42 foot yacht with up to 6'6" draft. It can be loaded into a standard hatchback or estate car when it needs to be moved and can stack easily taking up little room until needed. At the boatyard, the cradle can be built and ready for use within a very short time. Its powerful design will ensure the yacht is safe throughout even the roughest weather conditions.

Other cradles in the range have four arms and include the TC7 for up to 36 foot yachts and the TC5 for smaller yachts to 26 feet. The transportable cradles can be erected and broken down by a single person, as no part is longer than 1.2 metres and constructed in lightweight mild steel. Specifically designed for private use of yachtsmen, the cradles provide the flexibility of easy storage and mobility, to take a cradle where it is needed.

The YLCC has also introduced a robust six arm cradle design for motorboats which are to be transported by ship. Originally developed and custom built for Seaward Marine of Cowes to transport a new Seaward 35 on deck to the Falklands Islands, the motorboat cradle proved highly successful and now enters the YLCC range for on-ship transportation. On arrival at the destination the cradle can then be used for the vessel ashore.

Paul Williams of the YLCC commented "We have worked closely with Seaward on this project to build a particularly robust motor boat cradle which we can now offer to the market as a new option in our cradle range. Seaward have been long term customers of ours with several of their boats using our Yacht Legs for drying moorings so we were delighted to work with them on this interesting project."

The Yacht Leg and Cradle Company designs and engineers its comprehensive range of Yacht and Motorboat cradles in the UK and supply's many of the worlds leading marinas and yards. For further information, contact www.yachtlegs.co.uk
