Teleco SpA, a European leader in the production of automatic systems for satellite TV signal reception, has added a new product to its catalogue allowing bidirectional wide-band Internet and Telephone connection.

This service is provided through the broadcaster ASTRA 2 Connect supplied by the satellite Astra 23.5° East.

To obtain correct dish pointing, it is enough to press the SAT search button on the control panel, select the Satellite ASTRA 23E and wait a few seconds for the dish to locate the satellite. After doing this, the system is ready both for Internet navigation and to make telephone calls.

The MAGIC SAT INTERNET TEL system with 85 cm dish is supplied complete with an iLNB (Internet and telephone transceiver), IP Modem and another LNB to receive television programs broadcast by the satellites Hot Bird , Astra 19E, Astra 28E, Hispasat , Atlantic Bird 3 and Sirius.

The package also includes a few bonus features:
1) 800 Mb of Internet traffic at a receiving speed of 1024 Kbps and a transmitting speed of 128Kbps, valid for 365 days
2) 800 minutes of telephone calls to all landline numbers in most European regions (valid 365 years) from a new telephone number of the customer’s country of residence.

After the 800Mb Internet connection or 800 minute telephone call allowances have run out, your credit can be recharged by logging on to www.astra2se.com and purchasing packages from 50€ (Basic version) for Internet and from 9.50 € for telephone calls.

A MAGIC SAT INTERNET version without the telephone option is also available.

Reception area
This satellite’s current footprint covers central and northern Europe down to Rome. However, in the first quarter a 2009 a new satellite will become available covering southern Europe, too.

Telephone
This service is especially useful for camper users, as it very often happens that outside urban areas, calling from mobile phones is made difficult by a weak signal. This service also makes telephone calls much cheaper because all traffic to landline numbers of the user’s country of residence is included in the subscription cost, and traffic to mobile phone numbers is considerably less expensive than from a standard mobile phone. Additionally, as this phone is paired with a landline number of the user’s country of residence, whenever it is called from a landline
number of the same country, roaming charges are not applied even if the user happens to be abroad.

Radio/TV
Your chosen satellite POINTING procedure will only last a few seconds. Once the satellite has been pointed, the 3 digit display unit in the top part of the panel will read SAT.

This antenna model also allows any type of satellite receiver to be connected; alternatively, you can buy TSDR 5000 CI by Teleco, equipped with an infrared remote control extension and prepaid card reader, if you wish to install it out of sight inside a cabinet.
