The success for the Targa 42/44 continues. At its premiere in 2005, The Targa 42 was awarded with the “Motorboat of the Show” award in Stockholm.
Early this year, the Targa 44 was again awarded with a prestigious prize – the “Boat of the Year 2009” award in the category Wheelhouse & Walkaround.
The ceremony was held in London where Guy Adams from Wessex Marine proudly received the award. The organizers behind the award are the magazines Motorboat & Yachting and Motorboat Monthly. In 2007 the Targa 31 was awarded with the same prize.
The motivation of the jury was quite overwhelming and a great testimonial for the Targa concept and the quality and the performance of the boat – and the whole Targa range.
Below you can read the motivation in full:
“If ever a boat deserved its billing as the “4x4 of the sea” then this is it. When the rest of the Round-Britain race fleet opted to skip a leg and head for Wales by road, the crew of a standard production Botnia Targa simply turned up the stereo and battled round Land’s End into the teeth of the gale.
On test the new IPS-powered Targa 44 delivered 38 knots into a Force 6 with 11 people on board - more than enough to convince us that this was not only the clear winner of our Wheelhouse & Walkaround award but our favourite 4x4 by far."
