Sunseeker International scoops international powerboat awardsMotoryacht manufacturer Sunseeker is among the winners of both the UK Motor Boat of the Year Awards 2008 and 2008 European Powerboat of the Year Awards announced this month. The winners collected the awards at this year’s London Boat show and Düsseldorf Boat Show in Germany.

In the flybridge category of the UK Motor Boat of the Year Awards 2008 in association with leading magazines Motor Powerboats Monthly and Motor Boat & Yachting, Sunseeker’s Manhattan 60 was declared the overall winner. According to the judges, this 30-knot boat is beautifully crafted and ultra sporty, and offers well-balanced accommodation for six. Highlighted as a key factor is the Manhattan 60’s amazing, plush saloon with superyacht-sized boat windows providing a breathtaking view of the outside world.

In the custom marine yacht over 70 foot category, Sunseeker’s 37 Metre Yacht was ‘highly commended’ for creating a winning combination of clever layout, thorough engineering and bold styling at this price level. The judges acknowledged the company’s daring leap from successful production boatbuilder right into the heart of superyacht territory.

More recently, the winners of the 2008 European Powerboat of the Year Awards have been announced at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in Germany in four separate categories for powerboats launched in 2007. The awards are judged by a marine panel of senior journalists drawn from some of Europe's top for boats yachting magazines.

Sunseeker’s Superhawk 43 was named European Powerboat of the Year in the category of powerboats 12.2-15.2m (40ft-50ft). Launched in 2006 at the Southampton International Boat Show, the exciting Superhawk 43 underlines the company’s unrivalled reputation for the design and production of stylish high performance sport cruisers.

Three fully upholstered helm and co-pilot seats for boats face an impressive helm station and curved screen, behind the helm station is a large u-shaped seating area with foldout marine table, a well equipped wet bar and twin sunloungers. Aft is a teak bathing platform for boat complete with swim shower and boarding marine ladder.
