The Royal Perth Yatch Club is about to undergo a major redevelopment which will completely transform the marina, and is also essential to the Club hosting world class sailing championships.
A Perth company, Engineered Water Systems, has just been awarded the design and construct contract for a 203 berth floating marina.
A key requirement of the RPYC contract was the provision of a wave attenuation system which will provide protection to the inner marina berths from occasional NE storms and ferry wash. To this end EWS have successfully negotiated the provision of a purpose built SF Marina pontoon system.
SF Marina are a renowned pontoon manufacturer based in Sweden. The company specialises in floating concrete breakwaters, the pontoons and associated marine equipment are extremely durable. Unlike other concrete pontoons SF Marina pontoons incorporate heavy duty reinforcing, single piece pontoon segments up to 20m long and 6m wide and high strength marine cables and rubber boat blocks which form the pontoon joints.
The SF Marine floating breakwater is the first of its kind to be installed in Australia and one of only a handful of floating attenuators
in the country.
SF Marina is looking forward to working with Engineered Water Systems on this prestigious project.
