High Performance Thermoplastic HTP
A few kilos of PE-granulate, color additives and UV-stabilizers - these are the basic ingredients from which Prijon manufactures its world-famous HTP kayaks. Prijon uses a special PE for the production of its boats and that is HTP.

This material can only be used in blow-molding and not in rotomoulding, as used by other producers of kayaks. The molecule chains of HTP are about 10 times longer than the ones of rotating PE, leading to stiffer, lighter and more scratch-resistant boat hulls.

Production
The blow-molding is done in a 12m high and over 350 ton heavy plant. In the production the materials are melted, pressed through an extruder and emitted in form of a hose. This is pressed by high pressure to both halves of the form and solidifies into a kayak.
