Poralu Marine, a confirmed international presence Poralu Marine

  • Poralu Marine, a confirmed international presence
Port (01), 24th February 2011 - Expert in total marina design Poralu Marine designs, manufactures, installs and distributes systems for marinas. An indisputable world leader in the field of aluminium pontoons and top of the range marinas, Poralu Marine has posted a very satisfactory balance sheet for its export business.

Fast-moving sales internationally
Over the 2009/2010 financial year, Poralu Marine posted sales of 15 M€. This performance was the result of a strong operation in France and a sustained push to grow internationally. Export now accounts for approximately 70% of the company's overall business.
With its main production site at Port (Ain-France), Poralu Marine wanted to increase its presence on the world stage substantially and it therefore set up two subsidiaries - in Canada in February 2002 and in Australia at the start of 2010.
In parallel, Poralu Marine runs a network of agents spread throughout Europe, Asia and North America. "It is of fundamental importance to have a presence on the ground to understand local needs and specific problems properly. Our plan therefore allows us to offer a quality of support and a service close to our customers wherever they are in the world", explains Laurent Gasiglia, Poralu's CEO.
In France, Poralu Marine has added to its many references on the mainland, with projects completed on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines, as well as on lakes, watercourses and rivers.
In Europe, Poralu Marine extended its operations over its entire territory and maintained a dynamic approach to its business during 2010.
Its North American subsidiary, located at Saint-Eustache in Quebec, now employs a 12-strong workforce and works in partnership with five agents who cover the different strategic parts of the country. North America represents a formidable potential growth market for the port systems manufacturer because of the richness of its coastline, lakes and rivers. A well-known player in Canada and in the United States, the Canadian team has sold very successfully into Mexico, Hawaii and the Dutch Antilles in particular.
At the beginning of 2010, Poralu Marine opened its subsidiary on the western coast of Australia. At the end of 2009, Pascal Weber was appointed manager of the subsidiary, with the aim of widening Poralu Marine's prospecting territory in New Zealand, in New Caledonia, in Indonesia and in Fiji.
Having signed a number of contracts in China and in Korea, Poralu Marine wants to exploit the burgeoning yachting markets, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia and the Middle East. Having been represented in China by an agent for over five years, Poralu Marine decided to open offices in Shanghai and in Singapore, which are directed by Virginie Segura, Sales Manager Asia.

Success of the first Dealer Meeting organised by Poralu Marine at Port
A Dealer Meeting, to which Poralu Marine's agents were invited, was held in the last quarter of 2010 at the
company's headquarters in Port. Some twenty agents, based in the Netherlands, the Ukraine, Croatia, Spain,
Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus, Australia, China, Korea, Turkey and Bulgaria, etc. attended. For three days, all the
participants shared their experiences and exchanged views on their needs, their markets and their customers.
They were also able to view the latest innovations and be trained on the products, techniques and customer
requirements.
This first meeting, based on a friendly atmosphere, illustrates the Poralu Spirit concept perfectly: "pleasure shared
precedes performance" and promotes the spirit of belonging to the company. In the light of the success of this
first dealer meeting, it will be repeated at regular intervals in order to keep these exchanges going.
Poralu Marine has been committed for several years to the international markets and is one of the
companies in its sector which operates on all five continents and appears in the world TOP 5 system providers for the marina markets.
