Pirelli PZERO has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, the important international prize that honours excellence in design and production, and which has decorated prestigious brands and designers in recent years. Today the Red Dot Design Award, which originated in 1955, is the most famous and broadest-reaching design contest in the world. It is divided into individual categories such as the ”red dot award for product design”, the ”red dot award for communication design”, and the ”red dot award for design concept”. The PZERO 14 meter boat was awarded to honour the exceptional quality of the product and its designer.
Made by Tecnorib in collaboration with the Swedish OMD Ocke Mannerfelt Design team, a leader in sports boat design and winner of several worldwide titles, the PZERO 14 meter boat won the ”Best of the Best 2009”, imposing itself by unanimous vote in the Transportation category. It is the first time that a leisure boat wins this important recognition, considered by those in the business to be the most prestigious in the world.
The award is a new, sweeping success for the PZERO 14 meter rubber boat, an authentic jewel of the sea with a sporting and performance spirit, unique in its design and materials. Sophisticated lines, the highest level of detail, and lots of open space characterize this brand-new day cruise boat, full of spirit, which enriches the PZERO fleet. The newest PIRELLI PZERO boat, 14 meters long and 3.85 meters wide, incarnates in its DNA all the spirit that has always distinguished Pirelli’s industrial design project: meticulous materials research, attention to detail and high quality of performance. It is an open boat (without a cabin) with aerodynamic windscreen, extendable sunroof and three comfortable seats at the driver’s console. The stern is spacious and the bow has a living room area with double table in teak and divans in elegant beige sumbrella, a material widely used in the nautical world for its impermeability and resistance to sun exposure. For maximum luxury, in addition to the sunbathing areas there is a bar with integrated sink and refrigerator. And inside the console is a washroom with WC, shower and sink. The boat was created with numerous possibilities for personalization, from its colors to its cushions, to the hull, the cover and the tubular rubber, distinguished by three tones of grey degradè and by the central tyre print insert, the distinctive imprint of the PIRELLI PZERO universe.
