Despite the news from the financial markets at the start of the marathon 10 day show, Passport Yachts manufacturer Europe experienced their busiest ever UK event with a massive 25% increase in enquiries for the US blue water cruising yacht builder.
Although attendance figures for the show were down 5% on the previous year, the quality of visitors on the Passport Vista 515CC was exceptionally high, with many yachtsmen and women coming to the event to firm up on their short lists for ocean-going yachts to fulfil their long term plans for extended cruising, whether in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean or around the world.
Several buyers chose the show to finalise their decisions to choose a Passport Yacht to meet their requirements to combine safety with luxury and personalised bespoke interiors.
Stuart Gough, MD of Passport Yachts Europe, the UK and European dealer, said: 'This year's show saw some of our clients making their buying decisions, even in the present economic climate. these are yachtsmen who are making their plans for several years ahead, so they have put recent events into the context of their quality of life, and have not been deterred. They know that in a year's time, during which the marine boat is built to order, they can still fulfil their ambitions to go ocean cruising.
