The “Container Handler” is an economical solution when handling up to 5000 containers per year in small to medium scale operations such as transport yards, warehouses, and production facilities.

Structure
The straddle carrier structure consists of four vertical masts
with topbeams above (front and rear), wheel/drive assemblies
below, and side beams (left and right). A powerpack is hung from one of the sidebeams. An operator's cab is positioned above or below the sidebeam, or alternatively, attached to one of the masts. Timber guides are provided on the container-side of the masts of the machine to help guide the operator when driving over a container.

Spreaders
The powered 6m or 6/12m telescoping spreader incorporates hydraulic actuators, which operate the locking and unlocking of each corner twist-lock. Mechanical and electric safeties indicate safe attachment and release of the container. Side shift of ± 125mm is provided to assist in positioning the containers. An auxiliary set of lifting chains with twistlocks is provided.
These chains are placed on the hooks located on the spreader. The chain set allows the lifting of out-of-shape containers and flat racks. Chain baskets are provided on the masts for storage of the chain set.

Operator's Control Cab
The placement of the open cab is selected to afford optimal viewing of the major operation to be performed at the site. The machine is designed to be controlled from the operator's cab. Direction is controlled by one lever.
Each lifting system has its own levers to raise/lower and side-shift the load. A push-pull valve controls the application of the parking brake. Spreader functions are controlled and status indicated.
Powerpack operational indicators are provided. Any accessory lights provided are controlled from the operator's cab.

Stabilis Electra is the revolutionary system being offered by CMC Marine to overcome the problem of diminished dynamics of a mechanical actuator. Stabilis Electra uses a new generation of actuator to move a fin stabiliser connected to a DC motor with a permanent magnet.

This solution greatly simplifies the hardware for the electronic control system which in turn is much more flexible and powerful versus a control system for a hydro-mechanical system.

Moreover, this allows for the control of the fin system with input from various reference parameters such as: power, torque, speed, position and power absorption, to create new highly sophisticated and adaptable control algorithms.

Stabilis Electra therefore offers significant advantages, both in terms of performance and capital cost:
 - Faster response at a higher frequency.
 - No significant loss of power.
 - Faster rotating speed which helps tremendously when at anchor.
 - A reduction in the power absorption of 50% compared to a traditional hydro-mechanical actuator.
 - Less volume.
 - Less installed power.
 - Lower installation costs due to simpler mechanics and a reduction in the number of components.
 - Greater flexibility with regards to the design and installation.

The use of mobile systems requires the availability of cranes to move the equipment into position. Also, the need to add the vertical pipes to the system requires a labour force to be in position 24 hours a day. In order to get a better overall performance with less operational expense, shipunloading systems such as the Multiport are used. These unloaders normally have a peak capacity of up to 600 t/h.

They can be powered via electrical cable or by diesel generators and can be fixed or self-propelled on rails or rubber tyres.

The use of horizontal and vertical telescopic pipes allows a big area of the unloading hatch to be reached. With an auxiliary winch attached to the boom, a payloader (bobcat) can help the clean up operation in the ship's holds.

Environmental protection
The Multiports, for example, are equipped with filters which capture the dust from the products being handled. One special type of filter cleaning system has shown to be the most adequate is the reverse flow generated by a blower.
It uses the same air of the filter (same temperature and density), thus avoiding water condensation and blockage of the filter bags. Also, filter bags can be cleande by air blasts generated by an air compressor with an air dryer needed to avoid the mentioned water condensation.
Today, the sound insulation in this equipment is standard and its use in ports close to residential areas is becoming more and more acceptable.

Why drastically change a shape that is loved by most everyone? We didn't, we just made it better. Last year's Transcend brought a new fin technology that changed the way the board bites the water on edge. This engineering breakthrough enables you to make the molded fins longer by bolting on extensions which changes the way the board releases from the wake. For the new 2009 Transcend, we have perfected this design. The molded fins have been sharpened to reduce drag and hold a stronger edge. We also widened the board by a quarter inch adding surface area for more speed and increased pop off the wake.

We took our center spine technology and ran with it. This board has the deepest center spine that runs the complete length of the board. The spine not only breaks the water to stomp landings, but creates an edge-to-edge response that is lightning fast. The result is a surfy smooth feel that is very poppy off the wake and is the softest landing Transcend ever.

During the testing process, Andrew was so excited about the new design, he tried to steal the prototype several times. When you love a shape as much as Andrew, and the rest of the team, they get creative on making it disappear. Ride it and see for yourself.

All new molds for 09, 2-time World Champion Andrew Adkison wanted to 3 things; softer landings, more pop and a little more speed.

The Transcend now has the deepest center spine which runs full length of the board.

Center spine not only breaks the water to stomp landings, but creates and edge to edge response that is lightening fast.

Additional channels on either side of the spine maintain a stable and predictable ride.

¼" wider than last year adding surface area for increased pop.
•Constructed with a subtle 3 stage rocker and a small flat spot for huge wake-to-wake pop.

CWB innovative fin extensions allow you to increase the length of the fin by bolting on extensions.

Fin extensions also allow rider to set the board up for toe or heel side performance.

Molded fins are sharper to reduce drag and hold a stronger edge.
Platinum version comes with two sets of fin extensions, 1.5" & 2.5", foam version comes with the 2.5" extensions.

This extremely innovative machine has been thought by CVS Ferrari Engineers with the target to design an unique machine enabling the Drivers to work in the most safe and easy way.
Ferrari Container Runner can be available both in the 40 tons single lift version or 50/60 tons twin lift version.
The machine is fully electronically controlled by a CAN BUS system which interfaces with the hydraulic system as well as with the driving system which runs by hydraulic drive motors set up inside the wheel hubs.

Moreover Ferrari Container Runner is provided with some others features like an automatic centring spreader device or a crab steering system which allow to optimize the handling performances.
The electronic steering control works proportionally to the vehicle speed with the steering angle, which grants great comfort and safety for the Operators.

A great stability is granted by the lower profile which further guarantees an higher turning speed and eliminates the risk of accidents.

The lower weight of the machine (only 40 tons) allows to improve its acceleration as well as reduce its fuel consumption.
Due to the nature of its own design the Ferrari Container Runner can be considered a very versatile machine which, in some cases, might replace the job done by one terminal tractors and one Reach Stackers at the same time or it may have a perfect compatibility with a straddle carriers since it can do the same kind of job and requires the same instruction for the TOS or, again, it can be the perfectly integrated into an automated stacking yard system.

The machine is also able to pick the container up from the ground without making waste precious time to the Operator of the STS crane in trying to get the container on the trailers or AGV.
Itýs also important underline the structure of the driverýs cabin: the truck drive position is on front right with a all round visibility; itýs provided with a air-suspended seat and a multi-positioning steering wheel.

CVS Straddle Carriers also present innovations in their systems, in fact one of the latest development for diesel-electric straddle carriers is the use of an Hybrid Permanent Magnet (HPM) variable speed motor.

This improvement offers two options: the first a stator rotor for powering the vehicleýs wheels and the hoisting operations and the second version provides complete power for the generator.

CVS Ferrari also has its own energy regeneration system on its straddle carriers, utilising a variable rpm alternator, substituted by an electric motor, in order to optimise energy consumption. The unit captures the energy generated through the braking of the vehicle and lowering of the load.

This energy is then stored and used again for the spreader, steering system, engine fan and air-conditioning.
Another important characteristic of CVS Straddle Carriers is the anti-collision system fitted as standard on our machines, Anti-collision system is designed to avoid the collision between the portal beam of the Quay Cranes and the upper part of the Straddle Carriers when Quay Cranes do not have enough clearance.

The system is made of a series of laser sensors installed in the upper part of the S.C. (collision area).
The sensors are installed on the front and the rear part of the machine with respect to the direction.

The Dock Side Crane is Electrical slewing with luffing boom, moving on rails. All mechanical and steelwork components are designed and fabricated in our workshop. The crane is fabricated based on the most recent technological processes.

The crane, which moves on rails along the dock, consists of:

• A portal framework with rigid legs made of welded steel sheets, supported by equalizing trolleys that carry the wheels and the rolling mechanisms.

The framework will house the ballast required to prevent the crane itself from overturning.

• A middle column housing the ladder that provides access to the upper levels.

On the top of the column, a slew drive is placed, designed to bear the thrusts caused by the wind and the overturning moment of the slewing part.

• A rotating platform where the command cabin and the cabin housing the winches and the rotation mechanisms are positioned.
On the rear part of the platform itself, a counterweight is fitted to ensure that the slewing part of the crane is always balanced.

• A luffing boom consisting of a lattice truss, hinged to the rotating platform.

• A set of ladders and catwalks that provide access to the cabin and to the various mechanisms located outside the cabin.

Works with all Parasailors, Parasails, spinnakers, gennakers, and blisters.

Two-stage control system
The Easysnuffer features a two-stage control system which, as you pull the line first tightens the upper part of the sock while leaving the lower part straight. This avoids the sail getting stuck in the sock and being pulled up with it.

Single control line
Unlike many other recovery socks with two separate lines, the Easysnuffer is controlled by a single line. Inside, the Easysnuffer is regulated by two control lines, one on each side, each encased in channels sewn onto the sock. With this design, the control lines simply cannot tangle with the sail.

Furthermore, the channels are made of white cloth which contrasts nicely with the grey fabric of the sock and therefore is an optical guide helping you judge whether the sock is twisted or not.

Oval super light funnel
Hoisting and lowering the sail is significantly facilitated by the Easysnuffer's super light funnel. Thanks to its oval shape the wind can easily push the funnel up as it fills the sail. In fact, hoisting becomes somewhat paradoxical as you typically control the upward movement of the funnel by letting go the line up step by step rather than pulling the line down.

The oval shape of the funnel is also beneficial for snuffing the sail. The funnel will nicely gather the sail in when pulling down on the line.

Red and green marked shackles for safe storing
Once finished lowering it is a good idea to fix the clews into the shackles that are attached to the Easysnuffer's funnel - each one marked with a red or green strap, respectively.
This minimises the risk of shackling in the wrong sheet next time you hoist the sail.

The red and green straps guide inexperienced crew members (in potentially hectic situations) to attach the clews into the correct shackles.

The FM/ALCO 251 F engine is universally recognized for its great reliability, high specific output, and low specific fuel consumption. This rugged 4-stroke engine is available in 6-, 8-, 12-, 16-, and 18-cylinder configurations and provides 500 to 2810 kWe of power. All versions feature exceptional commonality of components with 229 mm (9 in) bore and 267 mm (10.5 in) stroke used throughout, forged alloy crankshaft with nitrided bearings, welded counterweights, fabricated steel cylinder block with redesigned camshaft bearing supports, and an under slung crankshaft that is carried in forged steel saddles. The latest version of the FM/ALCO 251 F engine incorporates performance improvements known as the Plus Package. The "Plus" configuration has been engineered utilizing years of actual field experience with the intent to reduce fuel consumption and improve reliability and durability.

The FM/ALCO 251 F "Plus" includes the following improvements:
• A stronger, more durable cylinder head casting increases the life of critical components such as valve seats and reduces thermal distortion and leaks.

• A new precision ground valve lever bushing that improves the reliability and service life of the valve train.

• A newly designed Super Bowl piston crown provides more thorough combustion and subsequent increased fuel efficiency. This provides a 11.5-to-1 compression ratio while using the same ring set and requires no change to the injection timing.

• A redesigned chrome pattern on the cylinder liner improves lubricity between the liner and piston and reduces lube oil consumption.

• Completely redesigned camshafts made of a stronger material to increase life. The new design also incorporates the "unit cam" concept, vastly improving maintainability by allowing replacement one cylinder at a time.

• Forged steel piston crowns are bolted to forged aluminum alloy piston bodies.

Since its market introduction, the Deep Blue 46 Open has received great feedback from dealers, the international trade press and customers. The SportTop version shows features that have already proven to be popular on her sister ship. Thanks to the GFK-Sport Top with built-in sliding sun roof it is easy, quick and simple to enjoy swapping from sunbathing to sitting in the shade without having to put up the complex hood.

The cockpit is therefore protected by the SportTop thus making a longer use of the Deep Blue 46 possible, starting long before the main season and continuing even longer beyond the summer
season.

The Deep Blue 46 SportTop, just like the Open, was created in close cooperation with the yachting and engineering experts, Blank and Petersen, who are responsible for the naval architecture and engineering on the Deep Blue 46 Series. Blank and Petersen are specialized into yacht engineering,
naval architecture, project planning and consulting, tender for mega yachts, calculations to EN-ISO

We use a Certified "HEPA" Filter per MIL-STD-282: 99.97% min @ 0.3 microns.
We recommend contractors use a micro-prefilter in our HEPA vacuum to extend the life of the more expensive HEPA filter. Use our Micro Prefilter #13141 to enhance the HEPA Filter performance as well as increasing the life of your HEPA filter.

A lot of companies claim to have a HEPA vacuum, but they may not be OSHA. If OSHA walks onto your job site, and your HEPA vacuum is not meet OSHAs standards, they will shut you down. Ours is meets OSHA's standards. Unlike other HEPA vacuums, the 16006 will never blow any dust. The vacuum will also last many years without problems, unlike many of the traditional wet/dry vacuums.

Concrete, mortor, stone, drywall, fiberglass. They all produce dust. Dangerous dust. Costly dust. Time consuming dust. It all has to be cleaned up, and a normal wet/dry vac just doesn?t cut it! You need a wet dry vacuum specifically designed to capture the extra fine dust created by these materials. You need the HEPA certified Wet Dry Vacumm from Dustless Technologies.

Designed to handle extremely fine dust from concrete, stone, fiberglass and drywall
Patented filter system provides three layers of filtration
Optional micro-prefilter captures down to .5 microns
Certified HEPA vacuum model also available

Ditec invited over 100 international customers on a cruise

The maiden voyage of the new, luxury Costa Crociere ship, Costa Luminosa, took place between the 16th and the 19th of May 2009, leaving from Venice.
In this glamorous surrounding, Ditec organised a convention for over 100 customers, Ditec international distributors coming from the five continents.
Such a high number of non-European distributors proves that Ditec group, which this year celebrates its first 35 years of operation, has now become a well established brand all over the world in an ever growing number of countries, where the Italian quality of its brand is now widely acknowledged and appreciated.

No other location would have been more suitable than Costa Luminosa to present the latest Ditec products, also because over thirty automatic sliding and swing doors have been installed on the ship.

The partnership between Ditec and Italian shipyards has been established many years ago and all Costa fleet ships are now fitted with Ditec automatic doors.
Automatic doors are a very interesting product in these holiday villages on the sea, specially in access areas, from the internal lifts to the external common areas, in the swimming pool area, in some service areas.

After leaving the restaurant, you can walk along the outside bridge, cleverly lit with a pleasant soft cobalt blue light, which encompasses and surrounds the black nights in the open sea, with its huge number of indoor lights.
You can admire the smart satin crystal sliding doors, operated by Ditec Bis automations, and then, to go onto the bridge, you go through majestic wooden doors, also automated with Wel.

Large and lively, the Lido Dorado is the ship multifunction area.
Automatic entrance doors on the ship are controlled by Ditec automatic doors both to give it a smart look and to control the air conditioning inside the lift shafts or the self service restaurants they give access to.

The same applies to the access to Lido Delphinus, at the stern of the ship. A magnificent balcony on the sea, where all the stunning views when sailing or the magic of starry nights can be admired. Even here, all automatic doors fitted are Ditec.

On board of Costa Luminosa a total of twenty Bis automatic sliding doors have been installed, whilst ten sliding doors have been fitted with Wel automation.

The SCR Marine charge regulator has been especially designed for the Superwind 350 wind generator and guarantees optimum charging of the batteries. The secondary function of the SCR Marine is to electronically keep the wind generator under load. When the batteries have reached their maximum charging voltage, the SCR Marine´s PWM circuit automatically diverts the wind turbine´s surplus power to the dump resistors. Thus with batteries even fully charged, the wind turbine continues operating and provides useable power as soon as electric consumers are switched on. This state of charge is indicated by a LED.
The SCR Marine is suitable for lead acid batteries, gel batteries and AGM batteries (AGM = Absorbed Glass Mat) and has temperature compensated charging characteristics. For special applications, the maximum charging voltage can be adjusted to customer requirements.

The charge regulator SCR Marine is completely sealed and effectively protectet against the marine environment.
It has two separate outputs, which can be used to charge two battery sets separately (eg. starter battery and service battery on a yacht).

Important: An advantage of the CRM is that it only regulates the voltage of the wind turbine. It is not influenced by (and does not influence) other power sources connected to the battery like alternators, gensets etc.

A unique event in the history of the Italian Navy shall be taking place in Genoa today and, for this reason, it may rightly enter the Guinness Book of Records. Indeed, today there will be the christening of two ships at the same time: the two new cruise liners of the Costa Group, which were built in the same shipyard, will be launched in unison during a single ceremony to be held in the port of Genoa.

In this extraordinary context, Ditec will also play a major role: indeed, the automatic doors installed on the ships are the efficient work of the entrance automatism designer known through Europe.
The automatic, sliding, swing and telescopic doors are all installed in the busiest passenger transit areas, on the decks leading to the restaurants and cafeterias, in the transit areas leading to the sporting facilities and to the swilling pools, as well as in the area devoted to the formula-one simulator. We can definitely state that the guests who will be witnessing this extraordinary event will be also warmly welcomed by the efficient and elegant eservice offered by the Ditec automatisms.

This is not the first time that Ditec cooperates with shipyards, where Costa Crociere liners have been built, as it has already equipped with its automatism all the most recent ships launched by the Costa fleet: Costa Fortuna, Costa Concordia, Costa Serena, Pala Costa in Savona, and now the last two ships, “twinned” in this baptism of sea.

One of the two ships, Costa Luminosa, has also recently hosted, during the maiden voyage that took place two weeks before its christening, the latest Ditec convention, designed for its international representatives.

This latest order certainly represents for Ditec a further acknowledgement as to the quality of its products and the professionalism displayed both in installation work and in technical assistance, in a field, such as the naval one, where weather stresses and conditions are not always optimal.

On the other hand, this renewed double reference offered to Ditec by Costa Crociere is also interesting from another point of view. The growing interest displayed for this kind of holiday, despite the general recession experienced at this time, has positively boosted the Italian shipbuilding sector specialising in large cruise liners and, consequently, all the allied industries that in the country equip and furnish these fabulous sea gems.

With Ditec, you stand out!
