Press release from NAVYLEC - 2008-07-01

Universal LCD ammeter NAVYLEC NL227-001 12-24Vdc Shunt in Positive

Amps measurement in a Positive circuit by digital instrument is very rare and as non-existent in marine. This is due to the technical difficulty to use the +12V (or +24V) in reference instead of the negative zero/ground of the battery for boats.

Universal ammeter NAVYLEC NL227-001 allows an instantaneous reading of a D.C. current in Amps, which comes from charging sources (alternator, battery charger for boats, marine solar panels, etc) and the battery discharge by the consumers in service. The ammeter is the only device which can give an exact measurement of the current flow.

Current Monitor has a button selector of shunts to the unit back side which makes it possible to use shunts of a 10A gauge to 1000A and 50, 60, 75 or 100mV. It can function with an existing shunt (according to the shunts sailboat table) or with a Navylec shunt as option. The choice of the shunt determines also the LCD resolution accuracy:

DISPLAY RESOLUTION/ SHUNT TYPE
10A/100mV => 0.01A
20 to 100A/100mV => 0.1A
+100 to 1000A/50mv => 1A

LCD display 3 1/2 digits
12 or 24Vdc voltage
Very low power consumption: 15mA@12V / 7,5mA@24V
It’s very compact size (80x80mm) makes it possible to install it easily
Front face IP60 and electronic components embedded in resin
