Press release from Marina Housing - 2008-03-11

Scandinavian Archipelago Villa 106

Scandinavian Archipelago Villas are suitable for permanent residences or vacation homes. Architecture is inspired by North-European boat boat sheds.

We exclusively rely on the highest quality Marinetek house for boat pontoons in all of our Marina Housing floating structures. Marinetek house pontoons are thoroughly tested and type-certified as durable and heavy-duty steel-concrete pontoons that will have a long life-span. They tolerate the wear and tear of icy conditions and they are exremely stable in rougher winds. A house pontoon weighs about twice as much as the construction built on top of it. Our pontoons are longer and wider than the mass of the house. Finally, the complete floating structure is securely moored with seaflex rubber boat cables to massive concrete marine anchors on the sea floor. Because of all these factors our floating structures on Marinetek pontoons are extremely stable.

Total energy economy

Our condominiums are equipped with energy-saving airheatpumps. During the hottest time of the year this technology is used for cooling the rooms and when it is cold the air is used for sailboat heating purposes. Into the technical unit representing the very latest development a hot water boiler is connected. During the coldest winter period additional heating is generated with the help of electric radiators. The floors in the wet rooms are heated with electricity. In addition, ecological solar collectors are placed on the roofs, a solution that produces hot household water in the sunny summertime by very low energy consumption. When possible these condos consume electricity that is generated by wind power.
