From May 29 to 31, a Lagoon catamarans fleet gathered in the mythical Vieux Port of Marseilles, with one common goal: to enjoy the beautiful waters of the Marseilles coves and “calanques” together. The 14 Lagoon catamarans docked in front of the City Hall, hoisted the new Lagoon flags, as well as those of the event’s partners: APACA, Raymarine and SGB Finance.

A complete success
• Coming from various Mediterranean areas – local ports, Spain, Corsica - the 12 Lagoon joined the 2 organization boats in the afternoon of May 29. Participants were welcomed by the Lagoon staff onboard the Marseillois schooner for a socializing welcome cocktail party.
• All conditions were there for the Escapade to be a success: great sunshine, an established 25 to 30 knots easterly wind on Saturday (kinder conditions on Sunday allowed for more relaxing and swimming) allowed great sailing moments). With a water temperature of around 20°C, participants were thus able to fully enjoy all the pleasures of the sea: beautiful sailing, wonderful moorings in the famous “calanques”, swimming with the fish…
• The programmes allowed the crews to sail around the Frioul Islands, near the majestic Château d’If, then to the extraordinary Sugiton cove, past the Maire and Riou Islands: only one word to describe the landscape …splendid!
• Did you say food? Lagoon owners enjoyed the excellent Bouillabaisse (a famous local fish soup) of the Club du Vieux Port restaurant, as well as the “provençal” savours of the au-revoir cocktail at the Société Nautique de Marseille.

Motivations of the Lagoon owners fully satisfied
• Some people came with the aim to spend a very good time with their friends, some others to meet other Lagoon owners and to share their experience, or also to meet the Lagoon staff: all the participants were satisfied, whatever their motivations.
Some of them were also delighted to be able to compare their own boat’s performance with others.
And of course, everybody agreed to organize a new Escapade Lagoon soon!
