ITAMA TRIUMPHS IN FOREIGN MARKETS: THE VERY BEST “MADE IN ITALY" IS ON DISPLAY

Itama’s April is packed with initiatives, ranging from the Croatia Boat Show to the Shangai Boat Fair’s Eastern atmosphere.

April 2008 – The Marches’ famous boat yard Itama, which belongs to the Ferretti Group, gives further evidence of its innovative trend and skills with a targeted response to stimuli from foreign markets that are revealing a growing interest in Italian luxury and nautical brands. Itama, which counts 34 operating branches in 22 countries, accepts the challenge and presents its market leaders - Itama Forty and Itama Fiftyfive - at key boat shows both in Europe and outside its borders.

The first event will be held in Croatia where Itama sailboat boats and their classically vintage style will find the ideal territory to be known and appreciated by the most demanding yachtsmen. Itama and Yachting Pivatus will attend the Croatia Boat Show on 5 - 13 April in Split. Yachting Pivatus, Itama’s sole distributor in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia with head office in Pula and a branch in Split, significantly contributes towards business in this area.
Nevio Sokolic, Yachting Pivatus’ president, gave a detailed description of these powerful and elegant boats’ potential in the Croatian Adriatic Sea. “The wealth of islands and the changing landscape with its coastline, parks and ancient seaside resorts,” explains Sokolic, “are doubtless stimulating attractions for shipping magnates who seek direct, intensive contact with the sea. Itama Open provides the ideal solution for shuttling between this Adriatic coast’s numberless islands and craggy coastline.”

And from the Mediterranean and the Adriatic, Itama will move on to China for the second consecutive year. This boat building firm from the Marches will attend the Shanghai Boat Show - the leading international boat fair in the Far East - with the Chinese distributor Speedo Marine on 10 - 13 April. It is a strategic decision, which responds to a study on emerging markets that reported special appreciation for sailing in a broad sense and, especially, for luxury yachts and “Made in Italy” products.
At the Shanghai Boat Show, Speedo Marine will organise a dedicated event to present Itama Forty in the evocative backdrop of the Natural Garden Marina that overlooks the Dianshan Lake. It is an innovative stage placed in the unique natural setting of the new seacoast created along the famous Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa’s futuristic design.

Success in European and international markets, achieved through the wide ranging distribution network ensured by a leading nautical Group such as Ferretti, does not cause Itama to neglect the national market. The company yearly renews its commitment and focus on the local territory’s most significant projects. From this perspective, another important appointment that once again witnesses Itama and the Adriatic Sea in the limelight deserves special mention - the Fano Yacht Festival scheduled to be held along the Fano Coast on 17 - 21 April. Itama will also participate in this important event with its market leaders Itama Forty and Itama Fiftyfive – they will be available for sea trials and exciting manoeuvres along the coastline, which is well known to the boat building firm from the Marches.

This intensive month for both Itama and the international nautical sector highlights the complex corporate framework that merges both technological innovation and product updates, besides loyalty to timeless design – the streamlined shape’s basic lines, blue hull, white deck and deep V-shaped bottom are the features that make Itama a high-end brand worldwide.
