The D-ring can open up for attaching lines / blocks then folded down flush to avoid foot injury and reduce the chance of lines snagging.

The use of silicone pad under the eye creates a soft friction creating a cushion effect that prevents the D-ring from rattling.

The surface of the pad eye has been treated by passivity (removal of surface iron and iron compounds by dissolution) to ensure a long, corrosion free life, proved by salt spray testing.
