The Havuard group in Norway has signed a contract with Smart Shipinvest to build a Havyard 848 SMART AHTS with an option for one additional vessel.


The first vessel will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2011 while the option vessel would have a delivery date in the second quarter of 2012.

The vessel will be equipped with the ODIM Smart AHTS anchor handling concept, which Havyard says will make the 848 SMART more efficient than competong designs.
