Close to 130,000 visitors came to Southampton in southern England – and event organizers are hoping for similar attendance figures for the 40th boat show taking place this year. Almost the entire Hanse fleet will be on display in the waters of Southampton from the 12th to the 15th of September. The overhauled Hanse 320, Hanse 350 and Hanse 400 will be on display for the first time. Furthermore, the Hanse 370 will be there, as well as the Hanse 430e, the Hanse 470e and the Hanse 540e; Hanse’s three top products.
The Hanse 320 and the Hanse 350 have been on the market for over year now and have proven to be bestsellers. Nevertheless, the Hanse designers have gone a step further and broadly enhanced the interior concepts of both ships. After receiving lots of feedback from owners, Hanse was able to incorporate requests and experience into the new interior options for the saloon, pantry, bathroom and bunks.
The “big mini” Hanse 320 also received a new deck layout from the designers. The “Schüddelfrost“, a concept yacht for the Hanse 370 line, has already been sailing in the front of the pack at international regattas. In doing so, she showed off her enormous speed potential. In addition, she has had her deck layout and other designer features overhauled thus bringing her up to the standards of the other models in the luxury class.
The Hanse 400 has also showed off its newly overhauled features. Owners now have the option of a single wheel and a twin wheel marine steering system, more room on deck, an open stern, side sailboat windows that can be opened and more interior options. Moreover, the Hanse 400 has improved sailing performance thanks to the novel T-keel, which already allows the
“big-mini” to run at a good clip and reach top beam reach speeds. In total, 80% of the ship is new and on top of that there is a new marine equipment package.
Numerous improvements await the visitors on board the Hanse 470e and the Hanse 430e, whose regatta version “competition” just placed second at the “Copa del Rey” regatta in Majorca. The Hanse 540e has profited in particular from the experience of the chief designer of team Alinghi, Rolf Vrolijk, whose victorious team made an international name for itself at the America’s Boat cup. A deep-lying center of gravity with optimal weight and keel
design are the secrets of this “turbo”, which can also be sailed safely by smaller teams. The “e” in the name stands for innovation, which includes the materials used as well. The hulls on these yatchs are made from epoxy. By using such materials, long-lasting sailing pleasure and high value retention are both guaranteed.
The Southampton Boat boat Show will be taking place at Mayflower Park on Town-Quay and opens daily at 10 a.m. from the 12th through the 21st of September. If we have managed to pique your interest, be sure to make it to Southamptom.
