We have developed the "Fintry-Brødrene Workboat" as a sustainable ship concept for versatile use at sea. It combines the advantages of an innovative carbon fibre sandwich technology with those of the proven catamaran design.
Catamarans offer various advantages over mono-hulls such as, for instance, lower displacement resistance, higher initial stability and superb seaworthiness. A particular feature of our catamarans, however, is the carbon fibre sandwich construction that has been successfully used in commercial shipbuilding for some years. This technology, coupled with the high-grade materials, means that our "Fintry-Brødrene Workboat" sets standards with regard to cost efficiency, quality and long-life cycle.
The uses of the "Fintry-Brødrene Workboat" are diverse: it can be used as a research boat with a small on-board laboratory, as a tender with a load capacity of up to 15 tonnes, as a small ferry or as a service ship for offshore wind farms.
The "Fintry-Brødrene Workboat" is built and accepted according to the rules for high-speed craft (IMO High Speed Craft Code 2000). Approval is given according to the strict regulations of the British Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and other navy standards.
