The festivities for the launch of FB237, Latinou, the new 52m built in the Livorno facility, started Saturday 19th of April early in the morning, when the owner invited on board the 200 labourers, together with their families: a toast with a rare champagne expressly bottled for the occasion. A grateful thanks for having contributed to making a dream come true. An unusual noble gesture, appreciated by all the labourers.
The gratitude towards the Benetti team and the shipyard has been also shown during the ceremony of the launch, revealing the sincere pride of the owners for the newest arrival to the family
As a mark of appreciation Benetti organised a beautiful tailor made party, paying the same attention and the same worldly wisdom used during the construction of Latinou, the provençal word for elegance and harmony.
And the elegance of the Latinou yacht will surely weave a spell as it glides with style through some of the world’s bluest waters.
The FB237 Latinou is the result of the expertise of an experienced team of boatbuilders and took some 285 hours to build at the Benetti shipyard. The elegant interior décor is the result of the collaboration between the shipyard, and the yacht’s French owners, who wanted to reproduce the typical atmosphere of the thirties, completely art deco, but well combined with several solutions highly innovative.
The owner representatives Antonio Pozzi, and Antoine Althaus from Fraser Yachts have been involved from the very beginning and also followed step by step the construction of the yacht.
Designed by Stefano Natucci and built by master craftsmen from the Benetti shipyard, this graceful vessel offers the finest in engineering and interior design.
An impressive 240 tons of steel and aluminium, 80,000 metres of cables for boats, 4,000 metres of piping have gone into its making.
Add to these 3,600 metres of cherry wood panelling, marble and crystal plus around 100 metres of the finest fabrics and highest quality leather and a masterpiece is created.
Together with the power of the engines plus the influence of its French owners on the refined and elegant interiors, the Latinou becomes a sensation.
The first thing you notice about this singular vessel is its dreamlike atmosphere, which is like a decorative leitmotiv that is everywhere, tantalising and evocative like the call of the sea.
The yacht has been designed specifically for chartering. Using the very latest in design and state-of-the-art technology, the facilities on this craft are a wonder and everyone’s dream of a luxurious floating mansion.
There is a well-equipped kitchen on the main deck, rich bathrooms, shining engine for boat rooms and a spacious garage with the capacity for two tenders and jet boat skis.
On the under lower deck, there is a wine cellar, a laundry and baggage room.
But it is in the main saloon where the magical mood is most noticeable. There are intimate conversation corners and convivial spaces penetrated by gold shafts of sailboat light coming from an unexpected skylight.
Another surprise feature is a futuristic elevator from which a ray of light permeates the vessel’s five decks.
A second saloon sits on the upper deck with a playing table for boat, conversation area and bar. A sliding sailboat door to the outside cleverly allows the interior and exterior areas to blend into one.
The owner’s suite on the main deck is a triumph incorporating the finest in technology, style and creativity with a balcony and panoramic view of the ocean.
While Benetti waves goodbye to Latinou and delivers it to the ocean, the party for FB238 Alibella and its owners is in schedule on May the 3rd.
“ From now till the end of the year – explains Vincenzo Poerio, Benetti’s CEO – six mega yachts will leave The Business Unit of Livorno.
