The latest creation of the French shipyard Alubat has just been launched at Port Olona. Ketch-rigged, the Alubat 58 is proposed as a centerboarder or as a keel boat. This 17.60-metre-long top-of-the-range aluminium sailboat is intended for reduced crew long-distance cruising.
Designed by Philippe Briand, this 17.60-metre-long central cockpit all-aluminium ketch provides the lovers of long-distance crossings with all possible comfort and reliability, in addition to being easy to manoeuvre. Spacious, the proposed standard version offers a large saloon, as well as three double cabins and a quarter berth.
The Alubat 58 is further equipped with a washing machine, a dishwasher, a four-burner cooker oven, a microwave, two marine refrigerators, a freezer, a water maker, a generating set, a reversible air-conditioning system (hot/cold), two real shower cubicles and the list of marine equipments is very long.
The sailboat has also been designed in such a way as to navigate with a reduced crew thanks to its electric rollerfurlers and winches manufacturers which make manoeuvring easier.
The purity of lines makes it a swift boat under sail and the powerful 160 hp Yanmar engine for boat permits to maintain a 9-knot cruising speed.
“We meant to design a big, stylish and top-of-the-range boat for long-distance voyages, which would be fully equipped, would combine comfort with performance, and would satisfy as much the lovers of centerboarders as of keel sports boats. The first one has already been sold. Our aim is to build four or five of them a year”, explained Bernard Roucher, the sales manager of the french shipyard.
