Aadaptiv Technologies recently opened its doors in both the UK and the U.S. with the
goal of providing advanced integrated bridge solutions for new and refitted superyachts.
The company offers a line of LCD Glass Bridge Monitors ranging from 15 to
26 inches, including widescreen models, which fully meet the increased regulatory
standards of today – and even tomorrow.
Gary Wright, president and CEO, brings to the new company more than 16 years’
experience working with monitors in the wheelhouses of commercial, naval and luxury
recreational vessels. He describes Aadaptiv’s concept as striving to meet the requirements
not only of captains but also of yacht designers and systems integrators.
“Designers are looking for integrated monitors that have minimum impact from a
design standpoint,” Wright explains. “Captains are looking to adopt cutting-edge
design features and enhanced technology while incorporating functionality…and
operational practicality.” Meanwhile, system integrators want to offer the latest in
bridge technology – combined with ease of installation. “We also have the ability for
the units to be connected over IBS – Integrated Bridge Systems,” he adds.
The company’s Glass Bridge Monitors use a unique remote control that lets the user
adjust backlight brightness, OSD functionality and signal source for up to seven different
screens. Each unit has two dedicated ports enabling daisy-chain configurations between
monitors using standard and Ethernet cables.
All of Aadaptiv’s Glass Bridge Monitors are ABS Type Approved, with additional certifications including IEC 60945 (Marine
Communications), IEC 62399 (Radar/AIS/ARPA) and IEC 61174 (ECDIS).
“The key issue now is the convergence of commercial regulations, which are coming down into the superyacht market,” Wright says.
“There’s added value in having approved monitors on board your vessel.”
